Gov Yusuf Warns Against Substandard Ramadan Meal

Kano State governor, Alhaji Abba Yusuf, has expressed dismay over Ramadan meals prepared and served at the Ramadan feeding centres in Kano metropolis.

Spokesperson to the governor, Sanusi Dawakin Tofa, in a statement noted that the governor expressed his dissatisfaction during an impromptu visit to one of the feeding centres in Gidan Maza in the Municipal local government area.

Governor Yusuf who also made known his dissatisfaction with the conduct of the programme handlers, said the intended beneficiaries were being deprived, promising to deal with saboteurs.

“We will not accept dishonesty and mismanagement of public resources. It is imperative to note that the allocated funds for this initiative are meticulously documented at each centre,” the governor cautioned

The statement further revealed that the governor conducted the inspection following intelligence reports implying deficiencies in the management of the feeding programme at various centres across the metropolis.

Kano State government had allocated about N6 billion for Ramadan feeding of the less privileged targeting to feed 18,000 people daily in 90 feeding centres in Kano metropolis.
