Acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Amb. Umar Iliya Damagum has visited the Anambra State PDP gubernatorial candidate, Ambassador Jude Ezenwafor, who was shot recently by assailants in Abuja.
Damagum was accompanied on the visit by Bauchi State governor and chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.
Damagum’s media aide, Nuru Shehu Jos, disclosed this, stating that the PDP leaders met with the candidate at a hospital in Abuja.
He, however, declined to disclose the name of the hospital.
The statement said, “Amb. Jude Ezenwafor, the PDP Guber candidate in Anambra State for the upcoming November 8, 2025, governorship election, got his life attacked and endangered by the bullet wounds of the gunmen who ambushed and opened fire on him in Abuja, while he was returning from an appointment.
he Acting National Chairman, in company with the Executive Governor of Bauchi State and chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, His Excellency Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed, and the Speaker of Bauchi State, represented the PDP leadership.
“The delegation was deeply saddened by the ugly incident and wished the party candidate, Amb Ezewafor, a quick recovery. The delegation equally prayed to God Almighty to avail our candidate love and support during this time,” the spokesman said.
