Kebbi State governor, Nasir Idris, has received the traditional title of SARDAUNAN Dosso in Niger Republic.

Presenting the appointment letter for the conferment of the title at a ceremony held at the Presidential Lodge in Birnin Kebbi, the Sultan of Dosso, His Highness Djemakoye Ahmadou Sounna Saidou, said the conferment of the title was in recognition of the governor’s outstanding infrastructural and human development strides in all sectors of the state.

He added that the honour was formerly conveyed through decree number Q12/SD/2026 issued by the Sultanate of Dosso in Niger Republic citing the governor’s commitment to ensuring peace and promoting unity among communities across border areas.

The Dosso Sultan also noted that the title was bestowed in appreciation of the governor’s dedication to strengthening traditional institutions and fostering harmonious relationships between Kebbi State and neighbouring regions in Niger Republic.

According to the Sultan, the coronation of the governor with the title will be announced in due course.

Receiving the title as SARDAUNAN Dosso, Governor Idris appreciated the Sultan and the people of Dosso for the honour which he described as historic and significant.
