Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has completed the construction of an ultra-modern mega motor park that would merge and house the three major parks in the state.
The mega park was built with a view to relocating other public and private motor parks and provide a befitting place for transporters and commuters.
The current Bauchi park would be used for the Gombe State secretariat after the relocation of the park.
Governor Inuwa has constituted a taskforce on the relocation of the three major motor parks in Gombe metropolis, namely: Bauchi Motor Park, Dukku Motor Park and Dadinkowa Motor Park to the newly completed ultra-modern metro motor park along Dukku Road.
Secretary to the State Government, Prof Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi who conveyed the governor’s approval for the constitution of the committee said the measure is to ensure smooth and organised transition of operations from the current motor parks to the new mega park.
According to him, the taskforce has ACP Ibrahim Bappa (rtd) as chairman with the chairman of Gombe State Urban Planning and Development Authority, Bappayo Samanja Maudo; Group Captain Peter Bilal (rtd); one director each from ministries of Housing and Urban Development, Local Government, Works and Transportation and a relevant Director from Gombe Geographic Information System ( GOGIS) as members.
Others are: the caretaker chairman of Gombe local government council and a representative each of the police, DSS, NSCDC and FRSC among others.
