Gombe State governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya CON, has joined the Emir of Gombe,  Alhaji Dr Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, and other Muslim Ummah in the state to observe the  2- Rakaat Eid el-Fitr prayer to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The Eid prayer held at the main Eid ground, was led by the Deputy Chief Imam of Gombe, Ustaz Aliyu Hammari, and attended by top government functionaries, including the Speaker and members of Gombe State House of Assembly, heads of security agencies among others.
The Governor, had shortly after the prayer, hosted top government functionaries, friends and associates to a lunch at the Banquet Hall of the Government House.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya,  who is also the Chairman of Northern States Governors’ Forum,  had earlier in his Sallah goodwill message to the people of Gombe State,  rallied the citizens towards collective prayer,  unity and resilience amidst prevailing economic challenges, assuring that the current difficulties are transient and that better days lie ahead with Nigeria emerging stronger.
The NSGF Chairman also emphasized the importance of moral integrity in combating societal ills.
He said, ” Eid el-fitr festival connotes sacrifice, selflessness, love and obedience to the tenets of Islam. I therefore enjoin us to draw enduring lessons from the Ramadan and show love to one another as well as promote harmony and peaceful coexistence among our diverse people “.
“The same way we all remembered the less privileged and those afflicted by poverty during Ramadan, I implore us to carry over these attributes beyond Ramadan”.
