Governor Agbu Kefas’ administration has been credited as one of the best, especially in the North East region for improving security, restoring public confidence and rekindling hope among the people of Taraba State.
This came amid sustained efforts to drive development across critical sectors in the state.
The president, Alumni Association of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Mr Nuhu Egya, gave the commendation when the leadership of the association visited the governor at the TY Danjuma House in Jalingo.
Egya, who led the delegation, said insecurity had posed serious challenges to residents across Taraba before Kefas assumed office but noted that the governor’s experience and leadership had helped to improve peace and stability in the state.
Egya also applauded Kefas’ commitment to good governance and development, saying his administration had restored hope and confidence among the people.
He said the alumni team was in Jalingo to identify with the governor and commend his administration’s developmental strides across key sectors of the state’s economy.
The association pledged its continued goodwill and support for Kefas as he pursues his administration’s development agenda.
Responding, the governor reaffirmed his commitment to purposeful leadership, inclusive governance and people-oriented policies, aimed at improving the welfare of residents and accelerating development across the state.
Governor Kefas described NSUK as an institution of great repute that had contributed significantly to the development of leaders and professionals across the country.
The governor acknowledged the role the institution played in shaping his life and career, stressing that the university had made enormous sacrifices in producing responsible citizens and professionals.
He urged members of the alumni association to remain united and continue to support their alma mater to sustain its legacy of academic excellence.
Governor Kefas also charged the alumni to remain courageous, strengthen the association and continue offering constructive advice and support to enhance its growth and relevance.
The governor expressed satisfaction with the leadership of the association and congratulated Mr. Egya on his election as Vice President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
He said his administration would remain focused on policies and programmes that promote sustainable development, expand opportunities and improve the living conditions of the people.
As a mark of honour, the alumni association presented Kefas with a framed portrait in recognition of his leadership and longstanding relationship with the body.
