Governor Mohammed’s Support For Media Excites NUJ

Bauchi State council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for his unwavering support to the media sector and his administration’s numerous achievements in the past seven years.

In a statement jointly signed yesterday by the council chairman, Comrade Umar Sa’idu, and the secretary, Comrade Isah Garba Gadau, the union congratulated the governor on the occasion of his seventh anniversary in office as governor.

The council praised Governor Bala Mohammed for revitalising state-owned media organisations and noted that the ongoing remodelling of the NUJ Bauchi State Secretariat reflects his commitment to providing journalists with a conducive and befitting professional environment.

The union also acknowledged the governor’s sponsorship of the first-ever Media Summit organised by the NUJ Bauchi State Council last year, describing it as a landmark event that enhanced capacity building, strengthened dialogue, and promoted professionalism within the journalism profession.

According to the statement, the governor’s support has further deepened the relationship between the government and the media community, creating opportunities for professional growth and development.

Comrade Umar Sa’idu said Governor Bala Mohammed’s seven years of purposeful leadership have produced visible results across critical sectors of the state’s economy.

“From infrastructure, education and healthcare to agriculture, rural development and youth empowerment, your administration has recorded remarkable achievements that continue to improve the lives of citizens and restore public confidence in governance.

“The people of Bauchi can clearly feel the impact of these interventions, while the media has had a front-row seat in documenting the progress,” he stated.

The union prayed for continued wisdom, strength and divine guidance for the governor as he continues to steer the affairs of the state and deliver more democratic dividends to the people of Bauchi State.
