Group Backs Wike’s Effort To Restore Abuja Masterplan

The Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Organisation in Adamawa senatorial zone has commended the minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, for deciding to correct the Abuja masterplan.

Coordinator of the organisation, Hon. Danasabe Suleiman Kakanda who spoke at a press briefing yesterday, described Wike’s emergence as FCT minister as a path in the right direction for the Tinubu-led administration.

Kakanda said if the minister carries out his decision to demolish illegal structures and shanties within the city centre, it would go a long way to improve the security situation in the territory.

According to the coordinator, for a long time, the Abuja masterplan has been bastardised, and since a minister has an interest of developing the capital city, there is the need to give him the needed support to make him successful.

He expressed confidence that only a minister like Wike who does not operate on sentiment can ensure that the menace of indiscipline becomes a thing of the past in the nation’s capital.

“We have followed Wike’s antecedence in Rivers State, and we saw what he did to make that state one of the most beautiful and developed states in Nigeria. So, for President Bola Tinubu to make him the minister of FCT means he knows that Wike can restore the glory of the capital city and make it one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

“I would like to appeal to Nigerians and all members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to give Nyesom Wike a chance to prove himself. He has the desire to work and deliver the renewed hope of President Tinubu and he can only do that if residents of the FCT give him the needed support.

“We will also appeal to Wike to carry all major stakeholders of the FCT along in his development plans so that everyone irrespective of party affiliation would be given a sense of belonging.  Because the FCT minister cannot do it alone, he needs the collective support of every stakeholder of the FCT to succeed,” he said.
