The Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Peace and Good Governance has called for an investigation into allegations that the director-general of the National Lotteries Regulatory Commission (NLRC), Mr. Lanre Gbajabiamila, may not possess a valid National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate.

During a press briefing in Abuja yesterday, convener of the coalition, Comrade Isa Yakubu, expressed concern over the revelations.

Yakubu said the NYSC certificate is not only a legal obligation but also a symbol of national service and unity, making its absence a significant breach of public trust.

The coalition urged the National Assembly, the Ministry of Youth Development and the NYSC to launch a comprehensive investigation into the matter.

The group vowed to monitor the situation closely and advocate for justice, ensuring that the rule of law prevails and no public official is exempt from scrutiny.

“The integrity of public office is non-negotiable. Public officials must adhere to the highest legal and ethical standards to preserve the trust of the Nigerian people and the credibility of our institutions.
