“We are very grateful to the AFN for bringing the evil reign of Munzur Ya Audu over our people to an end. We also appreciate the actions of the military against the other 115 others.

“Munzur Ya Audu was a torn in our flesh. Several families are crying because of harm he caused. We hope the AFN will relentlessly go after others that are still remaining and have refused to turn a new leaf,” the group said.

Yauri maintained that peace must return to the North East to enable the people in the region return to their normal lives.

He expressed confidence in the Nigerian military under the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa to pursue the terrorists until they give up on their dastardly acts.

Recall that the Director of Defence Media Operations (DDMO), Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba recently revealed that Audu and 115 others were neutralised during military operations.

Maj.-Gen. Buba said troops of Operation HADIN KAI recorded several successes including the surrendering of BH/ISWAP/JAS terrorists combatants and families while terrorists and their collaborators were arrested.

The defence spokesperson also said that troops conducted different offensive operations in Kaga, Konduga, Bama, Jere, Damboa, Chibok, Mafa and Kukawa LGAs of Borno State as well as Gujba local government area of Yobe State.
