A group in Gombe State, Gombe Youth Discussion Circle, has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint renowned businessman and politician, Nasiru Bala Jaoji, as the new minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

The appeal was made during an event organised to honour Jaoji for his contributions to humanitarian causes and youth empowerment initiatives.

The call followed the recent election of the former minister Nentawe Yilwatda to the position of national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), leaving the post vacant.

At the event, the group’s convener, Ibrahim Usman, described Jaoji as a symbol of selfless leadership with vast experience in public service, philanthropy and humanitarian activities.

“At a time when Nigeria needs competent, compassionate, and committed leaders, we urge President Tinubu to consider Malam Jaoji for the crucial role of Minister of Humanitarian Affairs,” Usman said.

The group cited Jaoji’s notable interventions, including the empowerment of over 1,000 youths and women with N50 million in Kano and the award of foreign scholarships to 20 indigent students from Tarauni local government area.
