The Benue State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the abduction of one of its personnel, Inspector Nathaniel Kumashe.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Ahula, confirmed the abduction on Thursday in Makurdi, the state capital.
Ahula stated that the officer, currently serving in Wannue in Tarka local government area of the state was kidnapped at about 10 pm on Wednesday.
According to her, the officer was abducted at her country home in Tse Aboh, Uchi-Mbakor in the local government, shortly after returning from his late cousin’s wake keep.
According to her, “The armed men fired gunshots to scare his family members and neighbours before taking him away.”
It was believed that the victim may have been moved to a kidnapper’s hideout at an unnamed neighbouring local government area in the State.
