Gwarzo Gives N5m Education Support To 30 Orphans At Kano Private School

In a generous act of philanthropy, the President of MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has donated N5million to support the education of 30 orphans enrolled in the primary section of Intercontinental Schools, Kano.

Prof. Gwarzo announced the donation during the Speech and Prize Giving Day of the school for the 2023/2024 academic session held at the Afficient Event Centre in Kano, on Tuesday.

According to him, the gesture would go a long way in supporting the pupils to pursue their secondary school education after completing their primary education in the school.

The significant contribution aimed to enhance the educational opportunities for the children, ensuring they receive the necessary resources and support to succeed in their studies.

Prof. Gwarzo also donated N2.5 million to the best graduating students at both the primary and secondary school sections of the school, including the two overall best graduating SS III students who went home with N500,000 each.

In his short remark, Prof. Gwarzo reminded parents of the need to give secondary school education priority attention in view of its importance.

He stressed the necessity for parents to invest significantly in the secondary education of their children.

He pointed out that secondary school serves as the crucial foundation that prepares students for their future academic pursuits at the university level.

Prof. Gwarzo, who announced plans to establish a university in Paris, urged the proprietress of the college to establish a bilingual secondary school to enable students to become bilingual.

Earlier in their separate remarks, the Founders of the Schools, Engr. Yusuf Baba and Hajia Hadiza Nuhu Yusuf Baba, praised Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo for his significant contributions to education, particularly for establishing the best private university in Kano.

They also expressed immense gratitude to Prof. Gwarzo for his continuous support to Intercontinental Schools while acknowledging his unwavering commitment to the development of education, not just in Nigeria, but across the entire African continent.
