HBO is set to air a special feature film on the making of its upcoming Harry Potter series on Easter Sunday, April 5.
Titled ‘Finding Harry: The Craft Behind the Magic’, it will bring viewers behind the scenes of the series to speak with the cast and crew of the ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone ’, while also taking them on the journey of finding the series three main characters Harry Potter played by Dominic McLaughlin, Ron Weasley (Alistair Stout) and Hermoine Granger (Arabella Stanton).
The series will air on HBO and HBO Max on April 5, Easter Sunday in the US, the UK and Ireland.
The teaser for the special, which dropped on April 2, featured interviews with cast members John Lithgow, who plays Hogwarts Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, and Papa Essiedu as Professor Snape, as well as the crew behind the big project, all narrated by actor Nick Frost.
“It’s been 25 years since audiences first walked the hallowed halls of Hogwarts. This exclusive special offers an inside look at the epic scale and meticulous care behind HBO’s new Harry Potter series, told through the lens of artists, craftspeople and technicians who are bringing J.K Rowling’s beloved books to life for a new generation.
This first season of the multi-season series follows Rowling’s first instalment in the Harry Potter books titled ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’, and will witness young Harry enrol in Hogwarts, discover his identity and parentage as a wizard, and make new friends.
48 hours after the release of the first season’s trailer, it hit 277 million views, making it the most-watched trailer in HBO and HBO Max history.
The streaming platform aims to adapt all six books of the series (one book per season) to the screen.
