Hull City have reportedly moved into pole position to sign Millwall winger Femi Azeez as interest in the Nigeria international continues to intensify during the summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old has attracted attention from several clubs following an outstanding campaign with the Championship side, with Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town previously credited with an interest. Bournemouth and Brighton & Hove Albion have also been linked with the talented winger.
However, Hull City are now believed to be leading the race for Azeez’s signature as they seek to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.
Millwall are understood to value the winger highly and are reportedly unwilling to entertain offers below £15 million. Azeez still has two years remaining on his current contract, placing the London club in a strong negotiating position.
The former Reading player enjoyed an impressive season, scoring 11 goals and providing eight assists in 37 appearances across all competitions. His pace, creativity and eye for goal have made him one of the Championship’s most sought-after attacking players.
Hull’s pursuit signals their ambition to challenge strongly in the forthcoming campaign, although they may face stiff competition should Premier League clubs decide to step up their interest before the transfer window closes.
