The council chairman refuted the allegation during a telephone conversation with LEADERSHIP Friday in Calabar.

He said that the allegation was a lie fabricated by his political enemies to pull him down.

“How can I slap a traditional ruler who is a custodian of our norms and values in our community? Am I mad? No I am not!

“Do you believe that I can do that? I was well brought up, and of course, you know I don’t have such audacity to disrespect and assault my traditional ruler, “ he said.
