The group said the INEC Is Your Friend Campaign will also be launched in schools as well as religious places. It said the campaign will witness it’s over 10,000 Tolerance Champions taking the sensitisation campaigns to market places also.

The association urged Nigerians to support INEC in its quest to conduct a very credible election come 2023.

“To the credit of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, they have issued a statement that their loyalty is with Nigerians and not to any particular candidate or political party. The Commission has also shown through their actions especially in the elections they have conducted that they mean business. All these unwarranted attacks will not do those engaging in it any good”.

Consequently, IAWPA also urged security agencies to step up investigations that will lead to the arrest and prosecution of those perpetrating the attacks.

“We are calling on the security agencies to step up and clamp down on those perpetrating these heinous crimes against the state no matter how highly placed they may be. It is very encouraging to hear that the National Security Adviser has stated his position on those carrying out violence activities towards the elections. It’s important he matches it up with actions inorder for us to have a peaceful general polls come 2023” the statement added.
