The International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) has extended warm congratulations to the people of the United States of America on the occasion of their Independence Day anniversary.
IAWPA, in a statement signed by its International Spokesman, Amb. Dr. Emmanuel Nkweke, said it recognised the importance of freedom, democracy, and human rights in promoting peace and development across the world.
“Today, Americans celebrate their nation’s birthday, commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
“As we join the American people in celebrating this significant milestone, IAWPA recognizes the importance of freedom, democracy, and human rights in promoting peace and development globally.
“We acknowledge the United States’ contributions to international peace and security, sustainable development, and human rights,” he stated.
IAWPA emphasised the need for greater cooperation between it and the American state to support the United Nations (UN) in fulfilling its peace and sustainable development goals? saying that it believed that collaborative efforts can accelerate progress toward peace and security, achieving sustainable development, and human rights.
“Promoting Peace and Security: Strengthening international cooperation to address global challenges and conflicts.
Achieving Sustainable Development: Supporting initiatives that promote economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental protection.
“Advancing Human Rights: Protecting and promoting human rights, with a focus on vulnerable populations.
“By working together, especially through the American Embassy in Nigeria with the dynamic leadership of Ambassador Richard M Mills jnr,  we can harness our collective strengths to create a more peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world,” he stated.
IAWPA said it looked forward a continued partnership with the American state and other stakeholders to achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promote global peace and development.
“Once again, IAWPA congratulates the American people on their Independence Day and reaffirms our commitment to peace, development, and human rights globally,” he added.
