A philanthropist, Chief Ojo Patrick Idowu, has commenced a royal tour to lead a campaign againstĀ  Illegal mining activities in the country.

In a statement issued to journalists in Abuja, Idowu said natural endowments must be harnessed through lawful means and in partnership with credible stakeholders.

He described the tour inspection as an investment opportunity for community development.

Idowu underscored that the exercise is not a ceremonial ritual but a solemn and strategic way to safeguard ancestral heritage, harness economic wealth, and secure the nation’s future prosperity.

He stressed that the era of unchecked exploitation was over and vowed that the full weight of the law would be brought to bear on all unlawful operators. He called for harmony between tradition and lawful enterprise and reaffirmed the equity and dignity of people.
