Egenti dismissed claims of embezzlement, impropriety, misappropriation by a petitioner, describing it as baseless, unfounded and untrue.
While calling for the investigation of the allegations by the appropriate authorities, he challenged Ifeanyi Nweze to provide evidence or any person that has given him money in running the affairs of the Igbo Association since he started leading the Igbo.

Last September, Ohanaeze FCT factional president, Bar Ifeanyichukwu Nweze, petitioned the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) demanding the sack of the Eze over alleged fraud, deceit and.
The monarch said the Ezes have been promoting culture, peace and harmony between the Igbo’s in the North and their host Communities, adding that it has fostered healthy relationship between the Igbos and other ethnic groups.

Egenti said, “I asked him, can you bring any human being since I started leading the Igbos that has given me N5 to run the affairs of the Igbo? I have been running it from my pocket. If there is any senator, governor, minister that has given me N5.

“He wrote a libelous petition against me and Ibe Nwosu that we are causing crisis in Abuja, I wonder how we are causing crisis in Abuja, that we set up Ezes who are collecting money for us and Ebonyi state.”
