A former federal lawmaker, who represented Adamawa North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Ishaku Abbo, popularly known as SIA, has stated that he was committed to transforming and improving the lives of Adamawa North people and the State as a whole.

In an interview with journalists, Abbo said that blackmail cannot deter him from winning elections in future. He emphasised that he was not discouraged by any past or present distraction, and warned that tarnishing his image would not benefit the political interests of those behind the smear campaign.

He insisted that his supporters would still vote for him due to his performance while in the Senate.

“Before the 2023 elections, I decided to sponsor some of my young supporters to run for office as part of my political mentorship program.

“I sponsored or supported youth in Densa, Numan, Lamurde, Guyuk, Mayo Belwa, Ganye, Yola North, Fofure, Song, Hong, Uba/Gaya, Mubi North, Mubi South, Michika, and Madagali.

“I did this to mentor young people and give them political experience. Some of them won elections in 2023. Dear youth, not everything trending is your business. Some of it will haunt you beyond the trends,” he emphasised.

Abbo believed that he was being targeted because he remained both a political threat and a source of income for others. He warned any politician aspiring to be a Senator from Adamawa State, especially in the Northern zone of the State, who is involved in funding the smear campaign against him, to stop wasting time and resources.

Abbo concluded by stating that as long as he lives, any candidate he supports and endorses for Senator in the Northern Zone in 2027 will win election. He said that anyone he raises his hand will win.

He stressed, “Don’t give up on your dreams. The journey may be long and tortuous, but don’t give up, just believe.”
