The broadcast, scheduled for 7 a.m., will be aired on the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).

In a statement on Tuesday, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, urged all television and radio stations, as well as other electronic media outlets, to hook up to the national broadcast.

The address is expected to reflect on Nigeria’s democratic journey since 1960 and outline the administration’s priorities under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

This year’s Independence anniversary marks 65 years since Nigeria gained freedom from British colonial rule on October 1, 1960.
