A fire disaster has razed a section of the historical palace of the emir of Bauchi, Alh. Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu, destroying properties worth millions of naira.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the inferno, despite a quick response from Bauchi firefighters, raised two blocks comprising several rooms in the palace. Burnt materials littered the vicinity.

The trigger of the fire incident was not made public. However, poor management of electric appliances caused several fire outbreaks in Bauchi.

Speaking when he visited the scene, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed sympathisers with Bauchi emirate over the incident.

He described the fire outbreak as a predestined event, urging the emir to take solace in God.
