Iran Warns Gulf Countries Against Assisting US Military

Iran’s armed forces have warned Gulf countries against assisting the United States military, saying any such support would amount to participation in American military operations against Iran.

Iranian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Ali Abdollahi issued the warning on Wednesday, according to Iran’s Mehr news agency.

Abdollahi said any assistance or facilitation provided to the US military by Gulf states would be viewed as involvement in the ongoing conflict.

He also questioned how large numbers of American military aircraft, particularly refuelling planes, could be present at regional bases without the knowledge of their host countries.

Abdollahi warned countries bordering the Persian Gulf that have previously said they would not allow the United States to use their territory for operations against Iran.

He said Iran was fully aware of the situation and urged the countries to take note of its position.

The warning comes amid heightened military tensions between Iran and the United States.

The conflict began on February 28 following US-Israeli attacks on Iran, which retaliated with missile and drone strikes, including attacks on American military bases across the region.

Iran has repeatedly warned neighbouring countries against allowing their territory or military facilities to be used in attacks against the Islamic Republic.

Meanwhile, the United States is redeploying the USS George Washington aircraft carrier to the Middle East to relieve the USS Abraham Lincoln.

The move comes amid reports of deteriorating living conditions for the crew of the Abraham Lincoln.

The deployment adds to the growing US military presence in the region as tensions with Iran remain high.

Iran’s latest warning underscores concerns that the conflict could widen beyond the immediate confrontation between Tehran and Washington, particularly if Gulf states are perceived by Iran to be providing logistical or military support to the United States.

The Iranian military has not provided details of any specific Gulf country it believes is currently assisting US forces.

However, Abdollahi’s remarks signal that Tehran is closely monitoring the presence and activities of American military forces at bases across the Gulf region.
