In a remarkable show of commitment to peace and volunteerism, the International Association of World Peace Advocates IAWPA says it will observe the International Volunteers Day (IVD) in Ebonyi State.

The event according to a press statement signed by the International Spokesman of IAWPA Amb. A key highlight will be the presentation of the prestigious Eminent Peace Ambassador Award to the governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency Francis Nwifuru.

The association said Governor Nwifuru has been a steadfast advocate for peace and social cohesion since he assumed office as the state governor.

Amb. Nkweke stressed that Nwifuru’s leadership has fostered an environment that encourages dialogue and mutual respect among diverse communities within the state.

The award according to the association recognizes his exemplary efforts in promoting peace initiatives that resonate well beyond the borders of Ebonyi.

The statement said under Governor Nwifuru’s stewardship, Ebonyi State has made significant strides toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
