The administrator of Jaba local government area, Hon Nita Byack George, has commended Governor Uba Sani and his deputy, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe for their efforts at restoring peace in Southern Kaduna.
George said their actions have made it possible for the Ham community to mark her cultural festival after six years of postponement.
In a statement issued by her senior special assistant on media and communication, Danladi Tasha, the council boss praised Governor Sani for the safe return of the abducted Kuriga schoolchildren.
She urged the people of the area to continue to support the administration of Governor Sani to provide democracy dividends for them.
Hon George thanked the illustrious sons and daughters of Ham land for organising a colourful cultural festival after several years of postponement due to insecurity and other challenges.
Meanwhile, the speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Tajudeen Abbas who doubled as the chairman of the occasion, has said there is a bill before the House to rename Jaba LGA to Ham LGA.
Abbas, who was represented by Hon. Suleiman Gimba, assured the Ham community of the firm commitment of the lawmakers to ensure the passage of the bill.
On her part, Kaduna State deputy governor, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, who was represented by the administrator and commissioner of Kafanchan Municipal Authority, Mrs. Phoebe Sukai Yayi, said the famous Nok culture symbolised the rich cultural values of the state.
Balarabe expressed Governor Uba Sani administration’s resolve to promote the famous Ham culture in the global community, and urged relevant stakeholders to support government policies and programmes in that direction.
