The Jigawa State Government has approved the construction of three major roads in the Miga Local Government Area, which will cost over N30 billion.

His Excellency, Governor Malam Umar Namadi, disclosed this during the flag-off ceremony for constructing the Tsakuwa-Koya-Kafin Hausa road in the area.

Governor Namadi stated that Miga is a key agricultural zone for the state, with the advantages of Fadama and other irrigation facilities enabling year-round farming in the area.

He emphasised that providing accessible roads for transporting farm produce, goods, and services is crucial for the sustainable growth and development of the state.

The governor added that the 30-kilometre Tsakuwa-Koya-Kafin Hausa feeder road project, which was awarded at a cost of N7 billion, is expected to be completed within 12 months.

“This project is one of three road projects the Jigawa State Government is executing in this local government.

It is part of our commitment to fulfilling our campaign promises,” Governor Namadi stated.

During his visit to Miga for the “Government Citizens Engagement” program (Gwamnatin Da Jama’a), the governor commissioned an electrification project in Koya Village.

At the same event, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr Abdullah Kainuwa, highlighted projects executed in the area over the last two years. These include renovating Miga General Hospital and other health facilities, recruiting health workers, and enrolling over 7,000 vulnerable people into the state’s Social Health Insurance Scheme.

Furthermore, the State Commissioner for Education announced that over N5 billion was spent renovating and constructing classrooms and providing furniture and other learning materials.
