JUST-IN : Adelabu’s Sister, Two Children Regain Freedom After Police Operation

The Nigeria Police Force has rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, Sister to the former minister of Power and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, alive during a late-night operation carried out around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

According to a report by Channels Television, the victims were rescued following sustained intelligence gathering and tactical operations by security operatives after their abduction earlier in the week.

Mrs. John-Paul, was abducted alongside her children at about 7:30 a.m. on June 3, 2026, while taking them to school in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Channels Television reported that the rescue operation led to a confrontation with the kidnappers. During the exchange, two suspected kidnappers were killed, while two firearms were recovered.

Security sources also disclosed that operatives have continued combing surrounding areas in search of other members of the kidnapping syndicate believed to have escaped, with indications that some may have sustained injuries during the encounter.

Earlier, the family had confirmed the abduction through a statement issued by Adelabu’s media aide, describing the incident as distressing and expressing confidence in security agencies to secure the victims’ safe release.
