JUST-IN: Atiku Visits Rival Amaechi After ADC Presidential Primary Election Win

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, on Thursday, visited former Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, at the latter’s Abuja residence following the conclusion of the presidential primaries of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Atiku was accompanied by a former Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal, former ADC National Chairman, Ralph Nwosu, and other party leaders.

The visit came amid reactions and political discussions trailing the ADC primaries, in which both Atiku and Amaechi were key contestants.

LEADERSHIP reports that Atiku won the ADC presidential ticket after the direct primary election, with 1,846,370 votes, while Amaechi trailed with 504,117, and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen securing 177,120 votes.

The visit was part of ongoing consultations aimed at strengthening party unity within the after the contentious presidential primary election ahead of the 2027 general election.
