The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the killing of an aide to the state governor, Sanusi Gyaza.
The command, through its Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Sadiq, confirmed the incident to journalists, stating, “Yes, we are aware and we are on top of the situation.”
The bandits killed Gyaza and one of his wives at his residence in the Gyaza community of Kankia local government area of the state on Friday.
It was also gathered that during the attack, the bandits abducted his second wife, leaving the community in shock and mourning.
The tragic incident has heightened concerns about the escalating insecurity in the state, where the activities of hoodlums, including kidnappings and killings, have become rampant.
When contacted, the Director-General (Media) to the state governor, Maiwada Danmallam, did not respond to messages sent to his known mobile phone number at the time of filing this report.
