The Sokoto State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, on Saturday, upheld the election of Governor Ahmed Aliyu.

The Tribunal dismissed the petition of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Saidu Umar, challenging the victory of the APC and its candidate (Ahmed Aliyu) in the March 18, 2023 governorship election in the State.

According to the three-man panel of Judges led by Justice Haruna Mshelia, the petitioners failed to prove their case beyond reasonable doubt.
