Kano State stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have purchased the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms for Governor Abba Yusuf, endorsing him as the sole governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was announced during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Kano, where party leaders unanimously reaffirmed their confidence in the leadership and performance of the governor.
According to a statement issued yesterday by the governor’s chief press secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, the immediate past national chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, presented the forms on behalf of the stakeholders.
In his remarks, Ganduje said the gesture was in fulfilment of the collective decision to adopt the governor as the party’s consensus candidate.
“We have already agreed that you are our sole governorship candidate and in order to actualise that promise, I hereby hand over these two important forms to you — the expression of interest form and the nomination form — to be duly completed and submitted,” he stated.
The stakeholders noted that the purchase of the forms reflected their collective resolve to sustain unity within the party and consolidate on the developmental strides recorded under the present administration.
They further emphasised that the consensus arrangement was aimed at ensuring stability, cohesion, and a seamless electoral process ahead of the 2027 polls.
Governor Yusuf, while appreciating the gesture, reiterated his commitment to inclusive governance, people-oriented policies and the continued development of Kano State.
He commended the stakeholders for their show of confidence and unwavering support and called on all party members to remain united in advancing the progress and prosperity of the state.
