Kano Pillars have suspended their Technical Adviser, Usman Sheriff Abdallah for three weeks following the team’s poor performance.
The club also said the technical adviser was suspended over his conduct towards fans immediately after the NPFL25 Matchday 22 goalless draw against Bayelsa United on Sunday.
The club’s Media and Communications Directorate said Alhaji Ali Muhammad Umar-led management took the decision following Abdallah’s ‘inappropriate’ gesture towards supporters at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
“Sai Masu Gida have struggled to find consistency in recent matches, securing only one win in their last three outings. This dip in form has raised concerns among the management and supporters, who expect a higher level of performance from the team.”
Chief Coach Ahmed Garba Yaro-Yaro, described as a “club legend,” will lead the team during Abdallah’s suspension, supported by assistant coaches Abubakar Musa, Gambo Muhammad, Suleiman Shuaibu, and Ayuba Musa.
The club reiterated its commitment to “maintaining professionalism and fostering a respectful relationship between the team and its passionate supporters.”
According to the statement, Kano Pillars will shift their focus to their upcoming NPFL25 Matchday 23 fixture against Remo Stars in Ikenne where they aim to bounce back and restore confidence.
