Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations and member representing Bichi Federal Constituency, Hon. Abubakar Kabir Bichi, has awarded postgraduate scholarships worth N25.853 million to 122 constituents under the fourth edition of his Postgraduate Support Programme.
The programme was launched on Sunday at the Zibsah Event Centre, off the Federal College of Education (Technical) Old Campus Road in Bichi, Kano State.
The scholarship scheme, which targets students pursuing Master’s and PhD degrees in higher institutions across Nigeria, is part of the lawmaker’s ongoing investment in education and human capital development.
At the event, Bichi said the initiative was aimed at easing the financial burden on postgraduate students while producing skilled professionals who would contribute to the development of Bichi Federal Constituency and Nigeria.
He disclosed that 122 beneficiaries were selected for this year’s programme, with a total of N25.853 million approved for their sponsorship.
