Kebbi State governor, Nasir Idris, has donated one hundred million to the victims of the recent Fulani and farmers clashes in Arewa local government area of the state.
He assured of his administration’s readiness to deal with perpetrators of the violence in the state, noting that they will face the full force of the law.
Idris said this while presenting the funds to the victims on his sympathy visit to the Displaced Persons taking refuge in the area.
He appealed to the victims to remain calm, noting that the government will deploy more security personnel to avert reoccurrence of such clashes in the area.
The governor also commended the efforts of the combined security team for their swift intervention in restoring peace in the area.
“We have launched an investigation to uncover the remote causes of the crisis and so far arrests have been made while investigation is going on.
“Therefore I urged all affected communities to embrace peace so that absolute peace will reign in the local government,” he added.
In the same vein, the victims have received a donation of N20 million from the minister of budget and economic planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu; two million naira from Senator representing Kebbi North Senatorial district, Senator Dr Yahaya Abdullahi; and one million naira, from the former governor of the state, Saidu Nasamu Dakingari.
The beneficiaries commended governor Idris and other donors.
