Kebbi State government has awarded contract for the dualisation of Old Argungu Bypass Road under Argungu emirate council of the state.
Speaking at the flagging-off of the construction work in Argungu town alongside the emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Mera, and top government officials, Governor Nasir Idris said the contract is part of his campaign promises during his 2023 campaign in the Argungu local government area of the state.
He disclosed that the dualisation project which will cost government over N7.2billion was awarded to Amirco Universal Concepts an engineering company to complete it within 12 months.
” I want start beautifying the towns in our emirate councils just like I have done to the state capital, Birnin Kebbi in Gwandu emirate council so as to compete with other emirates in the Federation,” said Idris.
He called on the people in Argungu local government to continue to support his administration in its efforts to change the narrative of the common man.
In his remarks, emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Mera thanked the governor for the project and prayed to Allah to guide his administration in order to achieve its goals.
The emir also crowned the governor with the traditional title of Jigon Kabi for his immense contributions to humanity.
The managing director of Amirco Construction Firm, Dr Hassan Mahdi assured the governor to complete the work within six months as against 12 months given by the government.
