The government of Kebbi State has lauded the federal government super Highway project initiated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. If completed, it will boost security and economic growth between the North and South parts of the country.

Governor Nasir Idris made the commendation on behalf of the people and government of Kebbi State when he led ministers of Works and Budget and economic planning, Engr David Umahi and Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, on an inspection visit to the Sokoto- Kebbi-Badagry super Highway project site at Janzomo Village outskirts of Birnin Kebbi metropolis where work is progressing.

According to the governor, Kebbi State has the longest stretch of the project, totalling 258 kilometres, but the president, in his magnanimity, vows to complete it.

“Indeed, the people and government of Kebbi State are pleased with this development. Mr. President has shown love to us, and we will never forget this legacy of Mr. President in the North West region of the country,” Governor Idris said.

Earlier, Minister of Work Engr David Umahi told the gathering that President Tinubu had approved 30% of the contract fees for this super highway project, which covered Sokoto, Kebbi, and other states in the southern part of the country.

He noted that President Tinubu had assured him the project would be completed according to the specifications by the contracting firm, HITECH, which has the ability, capability and modern equipment unmatched in West Africa to execute the entire 1,068 kilometres of Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway project.

Also, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s dedication to completing the inherited projects for the benefit of people in the country’s North West and South West regions.
