Kebbi Teachers Seek Improved Welfare In New Year

Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Kebbi State chairman, Comrade Zaki Sarki, has wished his members, stakeholders and the general public a Happy New Year.

In a press release, Sarki expressed hope for renewed passion, improved welfare and greater recognition for teachers’ efforts in shaping the state’s future.

“We pray that this year brings renewed passion, improved welfare, and greater recognition for our tireless efforts in shaping the future of our state,” Sarki said.

The NUT commended the Education Secretary of Koko Besse L.G.E.A and Hon. Salisu Garba Koko for their efforts in improving education in Koko Besse Local Government Education Authority (LGEA). He said Hon. Salisu Garba Koko donated N10,680,000 to the Koko-Besse Volunteer Teachers’ Association, demonstrating his commitment to education and teachers welfare.

“Kebbi State government’s priority on education under Nasir Idris’leadership has shown unwavering commitment to improving education,” he said.

He also noted that the administration has appointed professors as chairmen of Local Government Education Authorities, invested in school rehabilitation, and recruited more teachers.
