Actress and content creator Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, known as Kiekie, has advised digital creators to maintain clear boundaries between their personal lives and professional brands.
She made the call while speaking at the Creative Blueprint 2.0 forum held in Lagos.
Kiekie warned against the trend of oversharing personal relationships for online engagement, noting that it could affect long-term brand sustainability.
According to her, creators must define what their brand represents and avoid turning every aspect of their private lives into content.
“I have created a clear line between my personal life and my brand. Strategic restraint is necessary to avoid oversharing,” she said.
She explained that her brand is built around her work as a host, actress and content creator, rather than her domestic life.
Kiekie also noted that not every aspect of a creator’s life should be commercialised for audience appeal.
Speaking on her content choices, she said her husband is not part of her comic brand, stressing the importance of alignment in storytelling.
She added that while her daughter occasionally appears on her platforms, such exposure is limited and carefully managed.
