Kogi Assembly Confirms Ododo’s 18 New Commissioners

The Kogi State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed the nomination of 18 nominees as Commissioners on Wednesday.

The names of the nominees were presented by the new governor of the State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, to the Assembly.

LEADERSHIP reports that in an unprecedented decision, Governor Ododo, had on Saturday openly announced the nominations of members of his Cabinet and other top aides during his swearing-in ceremony.

Ododo, who was sworn-in as the 5th elected governor of Kogi State on Saturday afternoon, announced the nomination of some Commissioners to be forwarded to the State House of Assembly for prompt confirmation as members of the State Executive Council (SEC) during his inaugural speech to the people of the State.

The new Commissioners-designate comfirmed by the State Assembly are Engr. Farouk Danlami Yusuf, Barr Salami Ozigi-Deedat, Basiru Abubakar Gegu, Dr Adams Abdulaziz, and Engr. Joseph Oluwasegun Stephen.

Others are Muizideen Yinusa Abdullahi, SAN, Rabiatu Okute, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, Fatima Momoh, Engr. Mohammed Yusuf, Timothy Ojoma, Sunday Faleke, Mr Abanika Taye, Asiwaju Idris Asiru, Engr.
Mohammed Adbulmutalib, Wemi Jones, Mohammed Shuaibu, and Aridajo Monday.

While giving the report of the House Committee of the Whole, the Speaker disclosed that all the 18 Commissioners-designates had been found worthy to serve as members of the State Executive Council for the state after a thorough screening.
