The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Kogi State has condemned the gruesome killing of 25 innocent people in Agojeju-Odo in Omala local government area, describing it as barbaric, satanic, cruel and unacceptable in a sane society.

The PDP in a statement signed by the chairman, Senator Danjuma La’ah commiserated with the families of the victims, demanding that perpetrators of the dastardly act be fished out no matter irrespective of their connection in the society.

The PDP, however, expressed dissatisfaction with the administration of Alhaji Usman Ododo over the growing spate of insecurity across the state, charging the government to do more to secure lives and property.

“The killings in Agojeju–Odo in Omala local government area of Kogi State is one too many. How can innocent lives be taken away by some cruel individuals who are known for causing havoc in the society? Our sympathy is with the families of those who lost their lives in that attack. We the Peoples Democratic Party  are with them in this trying period,” he said.

The party noted that though the occurrence was a reflection of the worsening insecurity in Nigeria, it however counselled the state government to ensure that those behind the heinous crime were brought to book.

“This level of barbarism and extremely cruel acts only reflects how insecure our environment has been. It unearths how insecurity has continued to ravage many parts of the country, taking innocent lives and killing the economy,

“There have been records of kidnapping, armed robbery across the three senatorial districts. The world is aware of the kidnap of a Chinese engineer and the killing of a civil defence officer at Obagende in Okehi local government area of Kogi State,” the party said.
