Kwankwasiyya Movement Blasts Dokubo Over Alleged Verbal Assault On Kwankwaso

The Kwankwasiyya Movement has rebuked former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, over comments it described as “false, reckless and divisive” against its leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

In a statement released on Thursday, the group rejected claims attributed to Dokubo suggesting that Kwankwaso would betray Muslims for personal gain, calling the allegation “both absurd and insulting.”

The statement signed by the movement’s spokesperson, Dr. Habibu Sale Mohammed, said the remarks were a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and stir unnecessary tension within Nigeria’s sensitive political landscape.

“The claim is completely detached from Senator Kwankwaso’s record and his lifelong commitment to justice, equity and the upliftment of all Nigerians, regardless of religion, ethnicity or region,” the statement read.

The group argued that Kwankwaso’s political career has been marked by tangible contributions to human development, education, infrastructure and inclusive governance, insisting that leadership should be assessed based on verifiable achievements rather than rhetoric.

It further accused Dokubo of engaging in distraction, alleging that such statements were aimed at diverting attention from critical national issues, including economic hardship, insecurity and widening inequality.

Describing the remarks as part of a broader pattern of “baseless attacks and divisive narratives,” the movement warned that such utterances only deepen mistrust and threaten national cohesion.

While stating that it would not descend into “abuse and propaganda,” the group maintained that it would firmly challenge any attempt to malign Kwankwaso or distort his public record.

The Kwankwasiyya Movement also urged Nigerians to reject what it termed “politics of bitterness and misinformation,” calling instead for mature, issue-based discourse that promotes unity.

“Nigeria belongs to all of us, and no individual or group has the monopoly to define the loyalty of any religious or social group,” the statement added.
