Kwara Assembly Clears AbdulRazaq’s 18 Commissioner Nominees

Kwara State House of Assembly yesterday confirmed 18 persons for appointment as commissioners in the state.

The state governor, AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq, had forwarded a list of 18 nominees to the legislature for screening and confirmation as commissioners.

The screening of the nominees which was done in batches lasted three legislative days.

At yesterday’s plenary, the speaker of the House, Engr Yakubu Danladi-Salihu announced that all the 18 nominees have been cleared and confirmed for the appointment.

“Sequel to the screening of 18 nominees as commissioners in the Kwara State Executive Council and one   commissioner II nominee for the Kwara State Civil Service Commission of His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, which lasted three legislative days, all the 18 commissioner-nominees and one commissioner II nominee stated hereunder were considered and confirmed by the House at the committee of whole,” the speaker stated.

The commissioner- designates are Abdulganiyu Abdulazeez Kola (Asa LGA), Aliyu Kora Sabi-Baruten LGA), Shehu Ndanusa Usman (Edu), Afolashade Opeyemi Kemi (Ekiti), Dr Segun Ogunshola (Ifelodun), Abdulquawiy Olododo (Ilorin East), Saadatu Modibbo Kawu (Ilorin South), Ibrahim Suleiman (Ilorin West) and Hauwa Nuru (Ilorin West).

Others include Damilola Yusuf (Isin LGA), Oloruntoyosi Thomas(Isin), Bola Olukoju (Irepodun) Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Bata, (Kaiama), Bello John Olarewaju (Moro), Dr Amina El-Imam ( Offa), Dr Mary Arinde (Oke-Ero), Olaitan Buraimoh ( Oyun)and   Usman Yunusa (Patigi LGA).

Mrs Jemilat Adamu Bake was also confirmed as commissioner II in the state Civil Service Commission.

The speaker directed the clerk to the House to Communicate the confirmation of the nominees to the state governor.
