The African Democratic Congress (ADC) House of Representatives candidate for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency in Kwara State, Gbenga Power-Oyekunle has underscored the need for every child to be educated.
He stated this when he visited an orphanage home – Hope Orphanage, Idofian in Ifelodun local government area of the state.
He promised the management of the orphanage that he will be sponsoring one child to a tertiary institution annually.
He said every child, no matter the circumstance surrounding the birth, deserves education, hence the reason why he decided to go and celebrate with them on Christmas festivities to give them a sense of belonging.
The politician also extended his generosity to the people of his constituency as he distributed bags of rice to Agunjin town and its environs.
Speaking on the values of Christmas, the candidate urged Nigerians to embrace love and show compassion for their fellow beings in the spirit of season and in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Power-Oyekunle noted that Christmas buttresses the love of God for Jesus and the need for mankind to show love and compassion for their fellow beings.
He also urged Christians to offer prayers for the country and its leadership, saying that the myriad of problems facing Nigeria can be solved if all hands are on deck.
