Kwara Gov’t Collaborates With BoI To Boost MSMEs

The Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on Friday, said his administration would collaborate with the Bank of Industry (BoI) to ensure that federal government’s intervention schemes have sustainable impact on the people of the state.

AbdulRazaq spoke at a stakeholder meeting on presidential grants and loans schemes for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Ilọrin, the state capital.

 

Represented by the focal person on MSMEs, Dr Lawal Olorungbebe, the governor said the beneficiaries of the interventions needed to be increased.

 

He advised BoI to convene a stakeholders engagement to enlighten the residents on how to secure the grants.

 

AbdulRazaq urged traders and artisans to ensure they use the facility given to them to grow their businesses to an enviable level.

He thanked the federal government and BoI for the introduction of the scheme to assist the small business owners.

 

Earlier, the chairman of the Nigerian Association of Small Scale Industrialists in Kwara State, Olawoyin Solomon, said the purpose of the scheme was to raise the capacity of small-scale industrialists in the state.

 

Solomon advised those who secure the loans to ensure prompt repayment to enable others benefit from the scheme.

 

For his part, the chairman, National Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, Mr Babatunde Aremu, hailed the inclusion of Nano traders in the scheme.
