The Kwara State government yesterday assured the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) that it will continue to leverage infrastructural development to drive economic growth in the state.

The government assured RMAFC that it would continue to be the agency’s partner towards ensuring a conducive business environment for investment to thrive in the state.

The state commissioner for finance, Dr Hauwa Nuru, gave the assurance to members of the indices and disbursement committee of RMAFC during an assessment visit in Ilorin, the state capital.
Nuru said, “Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s administration is very much conscious that its quest to move the state to a smart city, running on the 21st century economic dynamics, will depend, to a large extent, on its political will to effectively tackle various challenges confronting the state, especially in the area of infrastructure.”

She added that the administration is committing huge resources to building infrastructure which would improve revenue generation, create job opportunities, and make the state attractive for investment.
She explained that the state government was intensifying efforts to ensure timely completion of the ongoing projects across the state.
