Kwara State government has presented eight motorcycles to the Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA) to boost patrol operations, traffic monitoring, rapid response and enforcement of traffic regulations across the state.

The ceremony held yesterday at the premises of the Kwara State Ministry of Transportation, Ilorin, was part of the efforts of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration to improve transportation management, enhance road safety and promote compliance with traffic regulations in the state.

Presenting the motorcycles to the agency in Ilorin, the state capital, the commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Lafia Aliyu Korasabi, said that the motorcycles would provide KWARTMA officers with better mobility to carry out patrols, monitor traffic situations, respond promptly to incidents and enforce relevant transport regulations across the state.

He noted that improved operational mobility would contribute to safer roads, smoother traffic flow and greater compliance with transportation regulations, ultimately benefiting residents and road users across the state.

Korasabi described the gesture as another demonstration of the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration’s commitment to strengthening public institutions and promoting security, safety and efficient public service delivery.

In his remark, the chief executive officer of KWARTMA, Mal. Abdullahi Sulaiman, expressed gratitude to Governor AbdulRazaq for the gesture, saying it demonstrated the administration’s concern for the safety of citizens.

Sulaiman said the motorcycles would go a long way in assisting KWARTMA officers in the discharge of their duties, particularly in curbing roads and traffic violations and preventing avoidable accidents.
