The Labour Party (LP) Candidates Forum has commended the Supreme Court verdict affirming the party’s new leadership, congratulating the interim national chairman, Senator Nenadi Esther Usman, national secretary, Senator Darlington Nwokocha and national leader, Governor Alex Otti on their legal victory.
In a statement signed by chairman, Barrister Okeme Adejoh and secretary, Comrade Eze Oko Splendour, the forum praised the judgments of the Supreme Court and the Federal High Court which removed Julius Abure as national chairman, citing the expiration of his tenure.
“We reiterate our support for the above leadership to reposition and prepare our great party ahead of the upcoming ward, LG and state congresses leading to the national convention,” the statement said.
The forum welcomed the formal takeover of the party’s national secretariat at No. 2 IBM Haruna Street, Utako District, Abuja, describing it as a step towards restoring stability and institutional order.
Members were urged to sheathe their swords and unite, with a call to stakeholders, including the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), 2023 LP candidates, former NWC members and other key figures to rebuild the party.
