Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda, on Monday afternoon, presided over plenary after meeting with the ousted Speaker Mudashiru Obasa.

LEADERSHIP reports that both Meranda and Obasa had earlier in the day held a meeting with other members of the House, APC leaders and the state’s Attorney General.

The plenary was without any incident as security operatives surrounded the Assembly complex to forestall a possible breakdown of law and order.

The embattled Obasa also declared that he remained Speaker of the House and that his removal was illegal.
