Following the recent Lakurawa bandits attack in seven villages under the Arewa local government area of Kebbi State, where they killed over 13 people, governor Nasir Idris has requested the Nigerian Defence Headquarters to establish a Military Operational Base ( MOB) in the Arewa local government area of the state.

He made this request when he visited the affected victims who lost their houses as a result of the bandits’ attack in the villages.

Idris said,  “Establishment of the base can solve this banditry attack. We call on the Nigerian Army to immediately establish their military base in this local government area (Arewa) so that people can live in peace just like any other human being in the state.”

“One of the priority attention of my administration is to see that everybody is protected from the hands of criminals, especially the daredevil Lakurawa bandits who are always terrorising innocent people in their areas „, Governor Idris added.

The governor, however, ordered the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs to take good care of the victims at the IDPs’ Centre in the area and assured them that the government would soon provide new settlements for them so that they could reunite with their families.
